for now there is no semi transparency for materials / objects supported in the software rendering that Balder uses.

Balder hasn't received the love it deserves the last year - and I don't know about how much time I will be able to dedicate to it. I've been hard at work for a client optimizing it and will soon release a new version when all that is in place, so hopefully I can return to things like this after.
Suggest you open the SampleBrowser solution and compile from that.
We will probably remove the Nant build as we are simplifying both the source and the entire project.

Hope that helps.

Also, we're working on some serious optimizations and will have a binary drop of the Software rendered version.

Hi and thanks, glad you like Balder.

The last couple of years has been really really busy establishing a new company, but we're on the verge of cracking through the initial setup. One of the things we're keeping on the radar is the porting of Balder to Windows 8 and also Windows Phone 8. We've
been trying to find a way to monetize on Balder, which would help a lot to get things done - of course (So any input is appreciated on how to do that.. :) )

I can't promise anything just yet - but we're looking at how to get Balder on the horizon again these days..

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to use balder in WIndows phone 8 application (not an xna game). I try to run simple balder example but i always get "ArgumentNullException The GraphicsDevice must not be null when creating new resources". Is there anyway i
can use this awesome component in Windows phone 8?

Thank You

Hi,everyone,I previously develop 3D program using Silverlight4 with Balder. But sometimews it gets stuck. So I upgrade to SL5+Balder. How should I enable GPU in SL5+Balder? Should I make special settings for Balder or Silverlight5?

Thanks a lot for any info.

It does solve my problem,Thanks you!

It's the problem of the version of assembly System.Windows.dll.When I create SL5 Demo with Balder,I use the 5.0.5.0 version of System.Windows.dll, and the error same as the title occurs. According to what you said,I use the 4.0.60310.0 version instead of 5.0.5.0,the error is gone.

And I don't know recompile which solution. I find some solutions in the folder balder_4ee4dbd23918\Source\Solutions.

I try to recompile the solution of Samplebrowser.Silverlight5,but dll errors occur.

Now my first question is : which solution I should recompile?

Now my second question is:After you recompile it successfully, you get a assembly System.Windows, what is the version of the dll? Is it 5.0.5.0 or 4.0.6 or else?

I previously develop 3D program using Silverlight4 with Balder. I am a new fish in Silverlight5+Balder.

I have this problem for a week.My english is not very good. Thanks a lot for your next reply.

Silverlight, which is I am not familliar, also supports 3d rendering. Is it possible to create complex 3d games? Or let me ask in another way, how many polygons, at most, does silverlight support to render in one frame, keeping fps 60?
