RenderableNode.Intersects(viewport,ray)

I want to get use a RenderableNode,Intersects(viewport,ray) method  but it always return null

however if I use Node = Game.Viewport.GetNodeAtPosition(x, y)  first, and use the Node.Intersects metod then , it returns and value

I don't know why
