WP7: incompatibility with Toolkit's GestureListener

Jan 21, 2011 at 9:13 AM

first congrats on the framework, I'm really impressed. I'm using it with WP7 in the last few days and have a couple of questions -I'll open separate threads as it will be easier to track them.

First issue is the Toolkit's inputGesture.

You can create a new WP7 project and put in the following in the main page:

<Grid Background="Transparent" Width="300" Height="300">
        <toolkit:GestureListener PinchStarted="GestureListener_PinchStarted"/>

You will see that the PinchStarted event is never fired.
If you comment out Balder.Display.WP7.Display.Initialize(); in the app startup, then the event is fired but obviously the Balder engine is not initialized.

Btw I'm using the latest official version of the toolkit.

Hi and thanks,

this is something that has not really been tested out too much. The WP7 version of Balder is lagging behind the Silverlight version in many ways, and also is doing a few tricks to be able to actually get HW accelerated 3D inside Silverlight on the WP7.

Anyways, the WP7 development pace will be picking up again soon and this is excellent input for that. Creating a work item to make sure this is taken care of.
